.Many exciting things happening in the city- right now and in the near future. Restaurant openings, new entertainment event , reasons to be excited all the time  in the city. Here are a few  of news and events to keep in the loop of the city .

Target logoSHOPPING NEWS: TARGET CANADA
Target is finally here! Well, almost. Set to open a large number of their stores in March/April 2013, Torontonians have lots to look forward to. With four stores opening in the Toronto area, and many more in the GTA, we no longer have to go south of the border to find great deals on better-than-Wal-Mart items. Target is sure to take in their share of shoppers looking for groceries, home items, and brand-name collaborations in the clothing department like Gwen Stefani’s recent Harajuku Mini for Target collection. Not only is Target going to benefit shoppers, but the American chain will have hired thousands of Canadians by opening, providing a great economic boost all over the country.

RESTAURANT OPENING: MOMOFUKU
If you’re into trendy restaurants, then you’ll be happy to know (or you probably already know) that Momofuku is arriving in Toronto this fall. Scheduled to open in August, but minorly delayed, the popular New York restaurant is sure to be a hit with the young working crowd who will have prime access to its University and Adelaide joint. Check out their homepage for updates and info about their noodle bar, and American nouveau cuisine.

SPORTS: TORONTO BLUE JAYS
If you haven’t taken in a game this season, this weekend is a great reason to get down to the Rogers Center and pick up tickets to watch the Jays face off against the Boston Red Sox. The season has been an exciting one, and the three game set coming up this Friday-Sunday will be a great series to bring the family down to watch.

ENTERTAINMENT UPDATE: ONTARIO PLACE
The much loved summer destination for families, boaters, and firework watchers is scheduled to be re-launched in 2017 as a year-round spot for fun. The beautiful waterfront venue is a Toronto landmark, boasting a great outdoor concert venue in Molson Amphitheatre, a beautiful banquet hall in Atlantis, and a great family-friendly theme park of sorts with a water park and great outdoor play places and rides. It was sad to hear of its closing this past summer, but for those of us who’ve enjoyed it over the years, we have a lot to look forward to when it re-launches with more shops, possibly a hotel and condos, and more year-round activities that will keep Torontonians enjoying the waterfront even during the coldest months.

UFCSPORTS ENTERTAINMNET: UFC 152
Like it or not, the UFC is here to stay. Ready to host their third UFC event since the ban on MMA fighting was lifted two years ago, September 22 will be date that’s sure to draw in thousands of fans from all across the province, and elsewhere. UFC has already generated tons of revenue for the Canadian economy, according to UFC Canada’s operations director Tom Wright. The event being held on September 22 will feature four Canadians, and is sure to be a catalyst in bringing even more attention to the sport and building its already large Canadian fan base.
