STAFFORD HOMES
History of Stafford Homes
Stafford Homes and its sister company, The Goldman Group, are fully diversified private property development firms with over 50 years of experience in land development, construction, and property management in Canada and the United States. Stafford’s focus is on their commitment to constructing homes that exceed satisfaction, providing homeowners with a sense of pride.
As one of Toronto’s most experienced and innovative real estate development companies, Stafford has earned a reputation for exceptional construction quality, stunning designs, and efficient living spaces. They consistently deliver award-winning projects within industry standards and timelines, always prioritizing client satisfaction.
In 1945, Samuel Goldman, a Russian immigrant and a humble bricklayer and carpenter, partnered with his eldest son Murray to build their first custom home in Toronto. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Murray guided the business, working closely with his father and gaining expertise in building and redeveloping neighbourhoods. Murray emerged as one of Canada’s most productive land redevelopers and visionary real estate developers. These initial steps laid the foundation for a trusted and respected building traditionthat has spanned six decades, four generations, and multiple continents.
Gary Goldman, Chairman and CEO of Stafford, joined his father Murray in the early 1980s after successful careers in brokerage and financial services. Under Gary’s leadership, Stafford has constructed thousands of residential and commercial properties. With a history of over thirty years in the construction industry, Gary has transformed Stafford into the diversified group of companies it is today.
Jonathan Goldman, President of Stafford, brings over 20 years of experience as a highly accomplished real estate and infrastructure developer. He started his career as a commercial investment broker and later founded and sold one of the country’s largest renewable energy development firms before partnering with his father Gary. In addition to his role as President, Jonathan leads Stafford’s Venture Group and spearheads new initiatives for the organization. He actively participates in numerous associations, including the Young Presidents Association (YPO), and serves on committees and boards for over a dozen charitable organizations.

Stafford places great value on authentic craftsmanship, which is rigorously examined through inspections. To minimize construction delays, they conduct inspections at all three stages of the building process. Prior to handing over the keys to your home, a final assessment called the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) is performed.
During the PDI, a representative from Stafford accompanies homebuyers on a walkthrough of the property, ensuring that it meets their specific requirements and satisfaction. The Stafford professional meticulously checks for any defects, damages, or incomplete elements that need to be addressed before possession. Additionally, homebuyers receive guidance on mechanical systems, ventilation, plumbing, heating, and maintenance. The PDI is a necessary step to qualify for Stafford’s Home Warranty Plan and includes the presentation of the TARION Certificate of Completion and Possession (CCP).
